Tour Details

This is a great budget adventure holiday safari to Kenya and Tanzania leading parks. You will experience the best of Kenya and Tanzania’s premier parks. We will visit the small but rewarding Lake Nakuru National park thereafter proceeding towards Masai Mara (Kenya’s most celebrated game park). This is where the great wildebeest migration takes place mainly in July and October of each year.

In Tanzania we will visit Ngorongoro Crater, which is said to have the world’s densest population of lion. In Lake Manyara lions have developed a liking for residing in the branches of trees, where they can both sleep and watch for prey. Then we will proceed to Serengeti, known for its large migratory herds of wildebeest and zebras with strings of predators in trail. The Ngorongoro crater also offers amazing wildlife viewing and scenery.

Afternoon game drive. You will see Lions in large prides, Elephants, buffalos, zebras and numerous plain game. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Enkorok Tented Camp.

Day 2Masai Mara Game Reserve

Full day exploring the park in search of the big 5 and other wild game. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 470 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Enkorok Tented Camp.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place – the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Day 3Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, we will proceed northwards to arrive in Lake Nakuru National park in time for lunch.
Afternoon game drives in the park where you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizeable number of the endangered rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. Waterbucks as well as the predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad variety of birdlife in and around the lake. Flamingoes are also plenty at the lake. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill lodge.

Day 4Lake Nakuru – Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border. Amboseli Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants’. Some of the largest Elephant herds are found here. The Game Park also contains vast groups of Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Buffalos, Hippos and Antelopes. Also to be found in Amboseli are lions, leopards, Cheetahs, Rhinos and many species of plain game.

Day 6Amboseli – Lake Manyara National park

Early breakfast then proceed for morning game drives as you exit the park and we drive into Tanzania via the Namanga border. We also pass through Arusha to Lake Manyara National park with lunch enroute. Regardless of the direction we approach Manyara from, the view is always fantastic. We will proceed to Migunga Tented lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley; the lake is at the base of this dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.

Elephants are relatively scarce and the few remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to the Moru Koppies area. Serengeti also offers rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being common, a variety of larks, finches, and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small bird is the lilac breasted roller.

The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena.
